| It is envisaged (Jan 2004) that the
next item from the MISRA-C working Group will be the MISRA-C2
Test Suite. This is because there is no way of testing any claims
for MISRA-C conformance or settling arguments on implementation
or interpretation. A test suite is needed so that users and tool implementers have a benchmark. It will permit direct comparison of tools and can be used for specifying conformance. At the moment (Jan 2005) anyone can claim MISRA-C compliance and there is no way of quantifying this. |

| MISRA-C1 "Test suite" |
| There is a MISRA-C1 unofficial test suite that was attempted by Les Hatton based on work by Derek Jones , Andrew Burden and others. However due to the anomalies in MISRA-C1 and the approaching MISRA-C2 this test suite was neither completed nor made "official". To avoid confusion and because no further work will be done on it (for MISRA-C1) it has been removed. |

| MISRA-C2 Test Suite |
| It is intended (August 2004) that this will be an official test suite. |
